Acetal is a thermoplastic produced from POM (polyoxymethylene) resin that is frequently used to replace parts that were previously machined from metals. It maintains its physical qualities in a variety of settings and at temperatures up to 180°F. Acetal's strong tensile strength, stiffness, impact and solvent resistance, glossy molded surface, and low static/dynamic coefficients of friction are all advantages. Acetal is frequently used in high-speed conveyor systems, bearings, gears, food service applications, valves, and manifolds.
